Michelle is a San Francisco State University graduated, holding a master’s degree in Human Sexuality Studies. Michelle is currently a PhD Candidate in Anthropology concentrating in Race, Gender and Social Justice at American University in Washington DC. She believes in communicating LGBT issues to a variety of audiences and uses her research skills towards LGBT issues. Her work includes articles and reports on same-sex marriage in the US, the experience of youth in Gay-Straight Alliances, queer youth in the US foster care system, hate crimes against LGBT people, and establishing a social justice program at the university level. Michelle is also a regular blogger with Bilerico Project.
