Harjant Gill teaches anthropology and cultural studies at Towson University in Maryland. His doctoral research examines gender, modernity and migration in South Asia. Gill is also an award-winning filmmaker and has made several films that have screened at film festivals worldwide. His latest documentary, Roots of Love, exploring the changing significance of hair and turban among Sikhs in India is being screened on Indian national TV channel Doordarshan and on local PBS channels nationwide.
