Marcie graduated from Louisiana State University Honors College receiving a B.A. in Women's Studies and Philosophy. She then continued her education at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) where she completed a master’s in both Public Health and Social Work.

Marcie is in her first year as an Assistant Professor in Human Service Studies at Elon University in North Carolina.
