Rick graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth and Environmental Engineering with a concentration in Sustainable Energy and Material. While attending Columbia, he helped organize Columbia’s Queer Awareness Month in October.  In the summer of 2010, Rick worked as a research assistant at the Center for Life Cycle Analysis at Columbia University, assessing the sustainability of solar panel technology. Rick recently began classes as a graduate student at Columbia on an MS/PhD track.
